Apr 08, 2019 With SCCM, you can use more than one deployment type to configure different content and installation program for the same application. We will see deployment types in next section. Requirements – While you plan to deploy applications, you may specify requirements to ensure you target the application to right devices. Specifies the package ID of the Configuration Manager package that contains the USMT files. This variable is required. Stores the current running task sequence deployment unique ID. It uses the same format as a Configuration Manager software distribution deployment ID. SCCM 2012: Application deployment stuck on 'Waiting to install ' I am setting up many new machines in the last month. But sometimes, when installing applications after rolling out an image. The applications wont install and display the waiting to install message. This mostly last for 1-2 hours but sometimes ever l.
I'm confused. Let me see if I understand you. You have an application that you want to deploy via SCCM. You have created the application in SCCM, distributed it to your DPs, and deployed it to a collection. You have a deadline set at some point in the future, and the application is installing before that deadline?
I'm pretty sure that's how that is supposed to work, if you don't set a schedule time for the installation to be made available. Per the Deploy Software Wizard in the Scheduling section:
'This application will be available as soon as it has been distributed to the content server(s) unless it is scheduled for a later time below.'
Then:
'[The installation deadline] is when the application must be installed on the device, including system restart if necessary.'
Sccm Deployment Waiting For Another Program For Windows 7
Installation deadline and Schedule are two different values. Deadline is when the installation must happen if it has not already happened. Schedule is when the clients are allowed to see the deployment to do the installation. You set a schedule if you don't want the deployment to be available as soon as possible to the clients. You set a deadline to force the installation (usually the restart part of the installation) if the user has not allowed the deployment to happen by then for some reason.
